For this project, I redesigned Spacey Jane's Sunlight vinyl cover. Although I love how the existing vinyl cover celebrates the band, I wanted to create an expressive extension of the music, moving away from portraiture. The title track has so much potential for experimenting with warm colours and lighting.
I wanted to highlight the uplifting nature of the songs, bringing dark situations to light. This inspired me to experiment with photography, with sunlight filtering through water.
For the promotional poster, I used collage and digitally manipulated the colours. I was inspired by Tame Impala's album cover and the colour grading in Spacey Jane's music videos.
